Whey Protein with Resistance Training

Thank you for your interest in the Whey Protein with Resistance Training Study at the Energy Balance Lab. Please take a few minutes to look over the details of the study (below).

DETAILS:
This study is designed to investigate the effects of resistance weight training in conjunction with protein supplementation on body weight, body composition, and metabolism. The weight training will take about one hour to complete. You will perform the training 3 days per week for 9 months in a private exercise room equipped with state of the art equipment and a personal trainer to help guide you through the exercises. You also will be asked to drink a protein supplement shake immediately following the resistance training exercises. The project lasts 9 months, and you will be required to stay in the Lawrence area and train 3 day/week over the summer. Our exercise facility is open from 7am to 7pm Monday-Friday and 10am-1pm on Saturday.

COMPENSATION:

At the completion of the study you will be compensated $1000.00. You also will receive detailed information about your body and fitness levels, including body composition (fat to muscle ratio), and metabolism. These tests normally cost > $500 to perform in the clinic; however, you receive the services for FREE as a study participant.
